EKBY since its establishment in 1991 sought and succeeded in developing a wide network of communication and cooperation in Greece and abroad. In particular, EKBY cooperates closely with:<\/p>

Public services<\/strong> and especially those responsible for the sustainable management of renewable natural resources, such as the various services of the General Directorates of Environmental Policy, Forests and Forest Environment, and Waters of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Green Fund, the Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency (NECCA) and the Protected Areas Management Units (PAMUs) that operate under its supervision, services of other ministries, such as the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education, Religious affairs and Sports, relevant services of the Decentralized Administrations, services of the Local Government (Regions and Municipalities), the Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of Cyprus etc.<\/p>

Research and educational institutes in Greece and abroad<\/strong>, such as the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Thessaly, the Democritus University of Thrace, the University of Ioannina, the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (HCMR), the Hellenic Agricultural Organization DEMETER, the National Center for Scientific Research DEMOKRITOS, the National Observatory of Athens, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), the Hydrobiological Institute of Ohrid, the European Topic Center of the University of Malaga (ETC-UMA), Universities of Bulgaria, etc.<\/p>

Pertinent services of the European Commission<\/strong>, such as the Joint Research Center (JRC) and the European Environment Agency (EEA).<\/p>

Environmental organizations from Greece and abroad<\/strong>, such as WWF, Tour du Valat, the Hellenic Ornithological Society (HOS), the Green Tank, the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP), iSea etc.<\/p>

Private companies<\/strong>, such as PPC SA, ENVECO SA, OIKOM Ltd, IACO Ltd etc. but also independent researchers.<\/p>

Also, EKBY participates in the MedWet Initiative for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Mediterranean Wetlands, which brings together a network of countries, institutions and organizations and operates under the auspices of the Ramsar Convention Bureau. Furthermore, it participates in networks of organizations, such as the Ecosystem Services Partnership, Europa Biodiversity Observation Network, Prespa Water Forum (with representatives from Greece, N. Macedonia and Albania) as well as in various networks and stakeholders\u2019 groups that are developed in the context of HORIZON, INTERREG projects etc. Members of EKBY\u2019s scientific personnel are among the experts\u2019 network of the Climate Change Impacts Study Committee (CCISC), regarding issues related to the environment and also participate in the Natura 2000 Biogeographical Seminars, for the Mediterranean zone. Finally, GNHM-EKBY supports the citizen science network \/ platform iNaturalistGR for biodiversity recording and identification, managed by iSea.<\/p>
